PROFILE
As a professional fine artist based in Prestwich, Chava is always looking for the next opportunity to translate life experiences into art. Since 2000, she has led a life fully devoted to the arts. Through a meticulous approach to the arts, she's made a strong and positive impression in the industry. Chava would love to work with you in the future, so please be in touch!

ABOUT
A substantial aspect in Chava’s work as an artist is being involved in the community. She uses art as a facilitator and a tool to help people cope with loss and trauma, as well as life challenges such as mental health, dementia, anxiety etc. Chava has a wealth of experience in the past 10 years, delivering Therapeutic Art workshops to Holocaust survivors and refugees, helping them capture their stories, as well as using art as a non-verbal expression of their experience, as well as documenting history. During her work on the project ‘Latent Memories’ she worked with the likes of The UK Holocaust Memorial Fund on their urgent testimony project. She identifed individuals suitable for recording, and helped to coordinate and facilitate recordings in the North West alongside Natasha Kaplinsky and Atlantic Productions. Chava describes one of her earliest memories as “learning how to recognise the ticking sound of a bomb on a bus”. Although she does not like using the term ‘warzone’, she was brought up with terror and war was part of her childhood. Having lived through the Gulf War, her way of coping with the fear and anxiety during the war sirens was creating art work. An album refecting her fear, anxiety and hopes. “This is when I realised the power of art in transmitting, transforming and infuencing myself as an individual as well as society as a whole. I suppose my obsession with war is about trying to understand how cruel people can be to each other, how war infuences who I am, but at the same time it is about being able to see the other side, the kindness and goodness, the ability to reunite and strengthen one another through war and disaster.”
